Yes, Coding Buddy is completely free to use. All core features including real-time status, push notifications, and voice chat are free. Optional premium pixel-art avatars are available for purchase to support development.

Is there an iOS version of Coding Buddy?

Coding Buddy is currently Android-only. An iOS version is planned as the first milestone on the development roadmap and will be built once the project reaches its first funding goal.

How does voice chat work in Coding Buddy?

Voice chat uses either on-device speech recognition or the Deepgram API (which gives you $200 in free credit) to transcribe your voice. The transcribed text is sent directly to your Claude Code terminal, so you can give Claude instructions without touching your keyboard.

What is Coding Buddy?

Coding Buddy is a real-time companion for Claude Code that lives on your phone. It watches your coding sessions and shows you what Claude is doing (working, waiting for input, or finished) through animated pixel-art avatars and push notifications.

Think of it as a status monitor you can carry in your pocket. No more alt-tabbing to check if Claude is done.
